School Meals 2024-2025

Several schools within the Ellensburg School District will continue to participate in the USDA’s Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for the 2024-2025 school year. Students attending the following CEP-participating schools will receive breakfast and lunch at NO CHARGE for the 2024-2025 school year: Ida Nason Aronica Elementary, Mt Stuart Elementary, Lincoln Elementary, and the Early Learning Center.

If your child(ren) attends one of these schools it is still important that you complete the Child Nutrition Eligibility & Education Benefits (CNEEB) application so that you may receive additional benefits listed below.

If you have students at Valley View Elementary, Morgan Middle School or Ellensburg High School and do not already qualify for free meals for your students based on participation in a federal program (SNAP, TANF, FDIPR, Medicaid, etc.), you will need to complete the Child Nutrition Eligibility & Education Benefits (CNEEB) application to receive free meals.

By submitting the CNEEB application, households may qualify for:

  • Free and reduced price meal benefits for students enrolled in schools that are not participating in CEP
  • Summer 2025 EBT benefits
  • Reduced fees for other programs and activities*

Complete a Consent to Share Form here (so your meal eligibility status can be shared with other programs):

Consent to Share Form Formulario de consentimiento para compartir

*NOTE: The form must be completed 2-4 days BEFORE paying for your fees to give the systems time to make appropriate pricing adjustments.

  • Federal law and USDA regulation require nutrition programs to make reasonable modifications to accommodate children with disabilities, which can include allergies and digestive conditions, but does not include personal diet preferences.

    Requesting Special Meal Accommodations

You need to request special meal accommodations if:

    • Your child plans to eat school meals AND
    • Your child has a medically perscribed dietary need that would require us to modify our menu

Note: we do not need accommodation requests for soy milk (we offer this at every school), fish/seafood allergies, treenut or peanut allergies because they do not require menu modification. Vegetarian meals are offered every day.

    To Request Special Meal Accommodations

If your student is participating in our meal programs and would like to request a special dietary accommodation, please fill out a Dietary Accommodation Request Form (see below). This form must be signed by a state-recognized medical provider. Please return the completed form to the Child Nutrition Department or your school nurse.

    Sesame Notification

The bakery that provides hamburger and hoagie buns to our district added sesame flour to the ingredients in October 31, 2022. If your child has a sesame seed allergy please reach out to your building nurse as soon as possible and complete the Dietary Accommodation Form (above) to request meal modifications.

Sesame Allergen Notification Notificación de alérgenos de sésamo

     Allergen Information

Our menu posted on the website can be filtered to identify allergens. In addition, allergens can be viewed along with nutritional information for each food item by selecting the specific item. Only the top 9 allergens are flagged (plus cinnamon), the top 9 allergens are: soy, wheat, milk, peanut, treenut, egg, fish, sesame and shellfish. While there are many more ingredients that can cause allergic reactions, the top 9 are the only ones required on nutrition labels, therefore, these are the ones the menu planner can track.

Allergen information is taken directly from manufacturer’s labels and databases and is subject to change without notice. Ellensburg School District does not guarantee the information and provides it solely for your convenience. The Child Department does everything we can to accommodate special dietary needs, however, the safest meals are those brought from home.
